The Skyo Fire in east Lewis County near Packwood has continued to grow, while containment efforts have stalled.

The blaze, which was caused by a lightning storm that moved through the area last week, is now listed at 176 acres and just 5 percent contained.

The area burning runs along the Cowlitz River north of Highway 12, near Baker Road. A Level 1 “Be Ready” notice has been issued for the area adjacent to the fire on the opposite side of the river as a precaution. Suppression efforts continue.
