The major power outage that occurred yesterday morning in West Longview was caused by a tree branch falling onto a power line. According to Cowlitz PUD’s Public Relations and Communications Manager Alice Dietz, the branch broke and came down on a line along 38th Avenue behind Walmart.

The outage impacted approximately 1,300 customers in the area near Mint Valley Golf Course and lasted for about an hour and 20 minutes.
