A bill that everyone can agree on passed unanimously in the Washington State Senate on Wednesday, which would correct a 132-year oversight and officially declare Washington as “The Evergreen State.”Republican Senator Jeff Wilson of the 19th district introduced the bill. This marks the third consecutive year it has passed in the Senate, but it has previously failed to make it to the House.

As we all know, Washington has been calling itself the Evergreen State for a long time, since 1893. However, no record exists of the nickname ever being officially adopted by the state legislature.
