There was a major power outage last evening in West Longview after a tree fell onto a power line.

The outage was first reported around 5 p.m., affecting over 1,000 customers in the area of Lone Oak and Monticello Drive, not far from the Pacific Way Church of Christ. At the time, gusts of around 40 miles per hour were reported in the area, and the tree also blocked the roadway.

Power was restored just after 7 p.m.
