You are now free again to kayak and fish in Lake Sacajawea, though we’d never recommend swimming in it, the city of Longview said yesterday algae testing showed no signs of toxins.

 
The water quality advisory was lifted and the precautionary signs were removed yesterday.
Longview Parks and Recreation says the lake experienced a larger algae bloom brought on by warm weather, along with decomposing plants after treatment for invasive plants.

City crews treated some of the most heavily affected areas and brought in surface water from nearby waterways to help dilute the lake. They said this made a noticeable improvement in that oily film that had covered the surface in some places.
