Some justice is going to be served in the Cody Tamayo murder case in West Kelso from August. The Daily News reports that 20-year-old Conner Aguayo pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree aggravated murder with a firearm enhancement yesterday.
Tamayo, a father of three, was shot near the Boondox Gas and Grocery on West Cowlitz Way on the evening of August 13th. He died from his injuries a day later.
Aguayo has a sentencing hearing scheduled for July 1st. Judge Patricia Fassett said he could face life in prison.
The other person charged in this case, 19-year-old Eligha Buckner Lopez, had his pre-trial hearing directly after Aguayo’s guilty plea. He was also charged with one count of first-degree aggravated murder with a firearm enhancement. His trial date is set for April 15th.
