Today, the Humane Society for Southwest Washington reopens the Longview campus for dog and cat adoption!

The Humane Society for Southwest Washington, formerly the Humane Society of Cowlitz County, had to move their animals from the Longview shelter to the Vancouver shelter while Longview was under construction. After a month of working hard to expand and update the animal spaces, painting, reorganizing and more, they’re now ready for you to come back in, say hi and meet your new best friend.

Sam Ellingson of the Humane Society for Southwest Washington said it’s been quite the labor of love, “Our team has been in there every day working – truly every day of the week – updating the facility [and] making improvements to the spaces to get adoptable animals back in. Just yesterday and a little bit this morning, we’ll be getting those adoptable animals back in, ready to find some loving families.”

The shelter is located at 909 Columbia Blvd in Longview. They’re now open for adoptions Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 6pm.
