(Castle Rock, WA) — Fire crews throughout the Northwest are on edge with the extreme fire danger.

Cowlitz 2 worked quickly when a brush fire broke out in the median of I-5 near exit 48 in Castle Rock at about 3:45 Thursday afternoon.

Flames were about three feet high, and the size grew to about 300 feet in length before crews were able to extinguish the fire in just under 15 minutes.
