March 12, 2025Further details have been revealed about the double homicide last month in Winlock; the suspect is accused of using a pair of swords in the killings.
The Chronicle reports that 35-year-old Robert Chandler Jr. of Toledo has been charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated murder, the most serious offense in Washington State, carrying a maximum penalty of life in prison without parole.
During a preliminary hearing in Lewis County Superior Court yesterday, Deputy Prosecutor Brandi Archer said, “The allegations in this case are frightening and incredibly concerning.” The decision was made at that hearing to hold Chandler without bail.
He is accused of killing 51-year-old Kimberly Torres and 61-year-old Donald Piccolo at their residence on the 400 block of Byham Road in Winlock. The two were not found until a forced entry welfare check on the evening of February 25th, but it’s believed they were killed on February 4th.
The bodies were found decomposing, with evidence of “severe trauma.”
