April 16, 2025A man from Vader was killed earlier this month after his vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree near Jackson Highway, close to Toledo.
According to The Chronicle, deputies from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash around 7:24 a.m. on April 6. The incident occurred near the intersection of Jackson Highway and Roakoz Road.
Deputies arrived to find a single vehicle at the scene with a 55-year-old Vader man, who has not yet been publicly identified, deceased in the driver’s seat.
Preliminary investigations suggest the vehicle was traveling southbound on Jackson Highway when it crossed into the northbound lane, left the roadway, and collided with a tree. Authorities are unsure of the exact time the crash occurred but believe an extended amount of time passed before it was discovered.
