Longview resident and longtime educator Robert “Bob” Fox has been named Lower Columbia College’s 2026 Alumnus of the Year.

Fox attended LCC from 1960 to 1963 after graduating from R.A. Long High School and serving three years in the U.S. Navy. He later earned degrees from Central Washington University and Portland State University.

Fox spent over 3 decades teaching special education at R.A. Long High School, helping develop local programs, including the Progress Center, which provides job training for people with special needs.

His family has deep ties to the college, with his wife and all four of their children attending or teaching there. 

Fox has also been a longtime supporter of LCC athletics and the college’s foundation, including a 25-year membership in the Red Devil Booster Club.

He will be honored during LCC’s Lifetime Donor Wall Celebration on November 12th.
