The Republican-controlled House voted yesterday to censure Democratic Representative Al Green of Texas for disrupting President Donald Trump’s address to Congress on Tuesday.

The vote was 224-198, with 10 Democrats joining all Republicans in approving the censure resolution. Among those 10 Democrats was our 3rd District Representative, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez. Perez posted on social media yesterday, “Today, I voted to censure a fellow member of Congress. When you knowingly break House rules, as Rep. Green did, it shouldn’t be surprising to face consequences. Congress should respect the co-equal office of the Presidency, regardless of who holds the job.”
