“The Mills for Meals Food Drive Challenge” gets kicked off today; it’ll run for 3 weeks through July 7th. 

Nippon, Weyerhaeuser, and Norpac are competing to see who can collect the most food. All the Food Raised will be going to Lower Columbia Cap, which services over 4,000 people per month. Lower Columbia Cap Action Director Ilona Kirby says the drive comes during uncertain federal budgetary times, where social service cuts are coming. 

The Mills involved are calling this a “friendly competition food drive” to see which mill can gather the most food by measured tonnage. Donations can be done via an Amazon wish list or you can donate at your Mill’s collection site.
