March 7, 2025A large quantity of illegal pot was seized late last month in Clark County.
Around 10:30 a.m. on February 27th, Washington State Troopers stopped a red Dodge Hornet traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 6. When troopers contacted the vehicle, they noticed two large black trash bags in the back seat and smelled a very strong odor of marijuana. Troopers asked several investigative questions, which led to both occupants being placed under arrest and booked into the Clark County Jail.
Several more bags were found in the trunk; in total, there were about 160 pounds. Troopers also found 11 grams of ketamine powder. Combined, the seizure is estimated to have a street value of $800,000–$900,000. The men are charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, as well as possession of ketamine with intent to deliver.
It is believed that they were transporting the drugs from New York.
