An arrest has been made following a manhunt after a reported fatal shooting Friday evening in Longview.

Longview Police Captain Branden McNew says that just before 10 p.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to a reported domestic violence incident in the 5600 block of Mt. Solo Road at Del Ray II Park. Just after arriving, officers learned that a victim had been shot.

That person, who has yet to be publicly identified, was found to be deceased with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers also found several children at the scene; they were taken and returned to their families physically unharmed.

The suspect, later identified as 24-year-old Josiah Karr of Longview, reportedly fled the scene just before law enforcement arrived. A several-hour, multi-agency manhunt eventually found Karr. He was booked into the Cowlitz County Jail on a 2nd Degree Murder charge.

As of now, no further information on the case has been released.
