    Lloyd Paul Huggins: March 1, 1953 — August 31, 2026

    LONGVIEW- Lloyd Paul Huggins, 73, of Longview Washington, passed away on August 31, 2026.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Teddy and Pauline Huggins. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol Huggins; children and their spouses Ryan Huggins; Akaemi and Josh Barnett; Jason and Meggie Huggins; Braxton and Coreen Huggins; and Kyrie and Stephen Gygi; 8 grandchildren; stepmother Sherry Huggins; and brother John Huggins.

    Lloyd was born on March 1, 1953 in Globe, Arizona. During his high school years, his family moved to Tempe, Arizona and he graduated from Tempe High in 1971.

    In January of 1975, Lloyd met the love of his life, Carol, at an ASU Institute dance in Tempe, Arizona. They started dating soon after the dance, and were married at the Mesa, Arizona temple on August 14, 1976.

    In the early years of their marriage they lived in Snowflake, Arizona, briefly in Denver, and in Gilbert, Arizona. After years of working outages at various power plants, Lloyd settled his family in Longview, Washington in 1988.

    Lloyd’s career as an electrician spanned over 40 years. He retired from Portland General Electric in 2020 as a Foreman.

    Lloyd was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served tirelessly in various callings throughout the years. From November of 1994 to January of 2001, he served as the Bishop of the Longview 1st ward.

    Lloyd loved literature. When his children were young, he loved to read to them from The Hobbit. He had an unabridged translation of Les Mis that he actually read – and highlighted and annotated.

    He loved live performances, whether it was music or theater or musicals.

    He attended local theater productions whenever he could. He actively volunteered with the Rising Star theater group as well as Stageworks Northwest Theatre.

    He loved music and had an encyclopedic knowledge of songs.

    He had a production company called Halfling Music and produced two albums.

    He loved traveling, whether it was road trips across the US or international travel. He traveled internationally to Switzerland, Japan, Uruguay, Canada and Mexico.

    He loved collecting Hard Rock Cafe t-shirts, watching NCIS and Hallmark movies, and doing crossword puzzles and cryptograms.

    Lloyd leaves a legacy of service and devotion to his family, faith and community.
