There will be some tree trimming work happening on Spirit Lake Highway this week, causing potential delays a ways past Toutle.

The Washington State Department of Transportation says that maintenance crews and the Cowlitz PUD will be trimming trees around power lines just after Kid Valley.

The work will be between milepost 21 and 21.7 at the North Fork Toutle River. Work will take place daily from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday. Both directions of traffic will be affected as travelers alternate through a single lane.
