Gweneth Dianne McDonald: September 26, 1947 — August 6, 2026

KELSO- Gweneth Dianne McDonald passed away on August 6, 2026, in Kelso, Washington.

Gweneth was born on September 26, 1947, in Miami, Oklahoma to Claude and Esther Ross. Her first years were spent moving around with her parents while her dad worked construction. During that time, she met her husband, Gene McDonald in Eugene, Oregon in 1967. They moved to Hermiston, Oregon where they had an alfalfa and animal farm. Together they had four children and one stepson.

Gweneth enjoyed country music, reading old western books, and bowling. In her earlier years, she enjoyed camping, fishing, and gold panning. She was also a member of the Salvation Army Church.

Gweneth was preceded in death by her dad, Claude; her husband, Gene; her grandson, Kyle; her brother, Grant; and her stepson, Michael.

She is survived by her mom, Esther; her 4 children, Esther “Jo” Danner, Tammy Beavers, Gerry McDonald, and William “Bill” McDonald; 14 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was loved and she will be missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at 1:30pm at the Salvation Army Church in Longview, Washington.
