March 20, 2025Some money is heading in the direction of Scot Stockwell, the St. Helens School District Superintendent who recently elected to resign. The Columbia County Spotlight reports that as part of his resignation, the district has agreed to pay Stockwell the equivalent of one year’s worth of his 2024-2025 monthly salary as a lump sum. The sum includes pay for unused vacation days and totals $228,629.
Before his resignation this month, Stockwell had already been on paid administrative leave for four months. The school board placed him on administrative leave on November 15th, not long after the arrests of two St. Helens High School teachers, Mark Collins and Eric Stearns, in connection with a sex abuse scandal involving current and former students.
