March 20, 2025The Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office has recommended that Washington State Patrol Trooper and former Woodland Mayor Will Finn be charged with theft in connection with his personal business.
The Daily News reports that the prosecution’s office has not officially filed charges, and Finn has not been arrested. However, he is currently on administrative leave from the WSP, and his photo has been removed from their website.
This comes after Chief Criminal Deputy Troy Brightbill confirmed that the sheriff’s office recommended first-degree and second-degree theft charges following an investigation into Finn and his wife, Heather Finn.
Brightbill said that the business handled rental properties, including Airbnbs, and it was Finn’s business partner who alleged that “unauthorized expenses” were made by Finn.
This is not the first time Finn has been accused of unauthorized personal expenses.
Though he was not charged with a crime, a 2024 report from the Office of the Washington State Auditor highlighted the misuse of a city-issued credit card while Finn served as mayor.
