Fluoride Discussion Removed from Consideration in Longview City Council—KLOG 100.7 News

Last night, the Longview City Council voted to remove the topic of fluoride in the city’s water supply from consideration. The decision came after the city spoke with their partners at the Beacon Hill Water and Sewer District last week. They expressed a preference for keeping fluoride in the city’s water. Beacon Hill also stated they would not participate in any referendum vote, such as the one the city was considering.

Concilmember Angie Wean said she felt it was important to listen to the city’s partners and consitituents on the issue.

There were no votes against removing the topic from consideration, though there were some abstentions, including Councilmember Erik Halvorson, who had been the driving force behind the fluoride removal discussion.
