A woman was found Friday morning after becoming separated from her spouse while hiking in Eden Valley.

The Wahkiakum County Sheriff’s Office says the woman became separated on Thursday evening, prompting the Wahkiakum County Search and Rescue team to conduct a search. 42-year-old Katherine Luss reportedly chose to take a different route on the trail and failed to make it through.

This led to an extensive search overnight, with Luss being located by a Coast Guard helicopter around 10:22 a.m. After being located, she was escorted out of the woods by search teams. Luss declined any medical attention at the scene.
