March 19, 2025Search Warrant Confusion in Kelso—Klog 100.7 News
March 19, 2025The effort to remove fluoride from the City of Longview’s drinking water is facing a major hurdle. Yesterday, the Beacon Hill Water & Sewer District said they would not participate in any advisory vote on the issue.
This comes after, late last month, the Longview City Council voted to direct staff to speak with the Beacon Hill Water & Sewer District about the issue and return with a resolution that, if passed, would add an advisory vote to the November 2025 election ballot.
Beacon Hill owns a 17% share of the Longview Mint Farm Water Treatment Plant, meaning they have a say in any changes to its operations.
It’s currently unclear what exact legal conflict would arise if the City of Longview decides to move forward with the fluoride removal without Beacon Hill’s consent.
