The November General Election is just over 2 months away, and with that, debate season is right around the corner.

3rd Congressional District incumbent Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez announced yesterday that she would be participating in two televised debates. One will be on October 13th on KOIN 6, and the other will be on KATU at a date to be determined. Her competitor, Republican State Senator John Braun, has yet to confirm if he will be participating in these debates.

Andre Stepankowsky of the Cowlitz Civil Dialogue Group says they are in talks with the candidates regarding a debate at Lower Columbia College. Stepankowsky says that currently, scheduling is the issue. The hope is that Gluesenkamp Perez and Braun will debate at LCC in late September or early October; however, nothing is confirmed as of now.
