Two Local’s Injured in Woodland Crash on I-5—Klog 100.7 News

Two local men were injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash early Saturday morning on northbound I-5 near Woodland.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:18 a.m. at milepost 22. Authorities say 23-year-old Brent Burkhartt of Kelso was driving a 1990 Toyota 4Runner when he veered to the right, lost control of the vehicle, and rolled. The 4Runner came to rest partially blocking the right lane of the freeway.

Burkhartt and his passenger, 28-year-old Zachary Long of Longview, were both injured and transported by ambulance to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver.

The crash report states that Burkhartt had been driving too fast for conditions. Charges are pending, and investigators are still working to determine whether drugs or alcohol were involved.

Long had not been wearing a seatbelt, while Burkhartt had been.
