Two Kelso men were killed in a crash Sunday afternoon on Industrial Way in Longview.

The Washington State Patrol reported that a 2008 Chevy Malibu was found on its top in a slough near Memorial Park Road around 4:51 p.m. The driver, 58-year-old John Rodriguez, and his passenger, 28-year-old Anthony Evans, were both declared dead at the scene.

Rodriguez had reportedly been driving westbound at milepost 2.8 of the roadway when he approached a bend in the road. The car continued forward, left the roadway, and flipped onto its top into the slough.

As of now, it is not known if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. The Washington State Patrol did say that Rodriguez had been speeding. Rodriguez was also not wearing a seat belt.
