April 23, 2025A two-vehicle crash in Kalama on I-5 yesterday resulted in a toddler and a 34-year-old woman from Woodland being hospitalized.
The crash occurred at 4:59 p.m. at milepost 29 on northbound I-5, while passing through downtown Kalama. According to the Washington State Patrol report, a 2024 Subaru Impreza driven by Kaeleen Lund-Heagerty of Woodland was traveling in the left lane when she began to slow for traffic. The other vehicle, a 2002 Acura 3, was driven by 21-year-old Wyatt Marrs of Longview. Marrs, who was following behind the Subaru, reportedly fell asleep, failed to stop, and struck the back of the Subaru.
Lund-Heagerty and 2-year-old Opal Lund were both taken by ambulance to St. John Medical Center. All involved parties were wearing seatbelts, and no drugs or alcohol were involved. Marrs has been charged with 2nd Degree Negligent Driving.
