The smelt, unfortunately, were not running. Yesterday, you may have noticed that there were not nearly as many vehicles along the Cowlitz River as you’d usually expect for a smelt dip. That’s because most people weren’t even able to catch a single fish.

Dipping will once again be open this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., giving people another shot at it.
