A man was arrested off of 46th Avenue last evening after eluding officers following a reported weapons complaint in West Longview.

The weapons complaint was made just after 7:20 p.m. in the area of the 4600 block of Olympia Way, not far from Robert Gray Elementary School. When officers arrived, they reported that the man attempted to flee; he crashed just a few minutes later near Windemere and 46th Avenue.

The suspect, Brian Leonard, was arrested by Longview Police Officers. He has been charged with Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, Attempt to Elude, Reckless Endangerment, and DUI.

A child was discovered in the vehicle; the child was taken safely into care.
