March 27, 2025A new art exhibit is now available at Longview’s Community Art Workshops Alcove Gallery. The workshop and gallery are located at 1526 Commerce Avenue and are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The current show runs through April 24th, with a reception on April 21st.
The title of the show is “Planting the Earth” and features oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings, as well as mixed-media works, quilling, and soft sculptures. The creators of the works are primarily participants in the workshop’s free classes and programs.
The Community Art Workshop is associated with Lower Columbia CAP, and they recently celebrated eight years at their current location.
The workshop’s coordinator, Lisa Clark, said, “This is a place where anyone of any age or skill level can play and make art. The classes are free, and we are fortunate to have many donated art supplies and tools, so materials are free as well.”
The May through June art show is open to anyone who wants to submit an art piece. The theme of that show is “growth.”
