Longview “Summer on Broadway”—Klog 100.7 News

Starting next week, on May 1, the City of Longview is launching its “Summer on Broadway” Downtown Pilot Program.
Both sides of Broadway in front of City Hall will be closed to allow for more community use of the space during the warmer months.

To help with the change, a new driveway is being constructed off 15th Avenue to access the northern city parking lot, which is currently only accessible from Broadway or the alley.

Throughout the summer, Broadway will feature scheduled programming on certain days of the week. On Tuesdays, it will host the Downtown Farmers Market, and from Friday evenings through Sundays, the Mi Familia Swapmeet will expand its current weekend operations.

The goal is for the city to offer something there every day of the week. Right now, they’re reaching out to local businesses, nonprofits, and community groups to explore creative ways to use the space on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
