The oily spots that many people have noticed on Lake Sacajawea are now being treated by Longview Parks & Recreation.

Parks & Rec says they suspect that this is an algae bloom. Treatment will continue until the end of this week. At this time, they continue to ask all park users and their pets to avoid contact with the water.

Caution signage will remain in place around the lake until the potential concern has been addressed.
