Last night, the Longview City Council voted to allocate money for the annual Neighborhood Park Grants.
Every request was fulfilled this year, with $28,600 being distributed.

Central Sandlot Baseball received $6,000 for a storage and shade sail at Archie Anderson Park; the total project cost is $12,000.

Longview Youth Baseball received $19,000 for facility improvements, including clubhouse residing, concrete pitching mounds, new scoreboards, and batting cage gutters. The total cost of that project is $38,000.

An additional $3,600 was allocated for the Lions Island Totem Pole Maintenance. This is to restore the historic city landmark; the total project cost is $7,200.
