Come down to Longview City Hall today to hear from the Longview Fire Department at an open house for people who have questions about Proposition 1, a property tax proposal on the November ballot.

The measure is a fire and emergency services levy, which will raise property taxes by $1.15 per $1,000 of assessed property value starting in 2027.

The money would go toward building and staffing a third fire station in the 2700 block of Ocean Beach Highway, along with equipment and additional firefighters and paramedics.

The open house runs from 4 to 6 p.m.
