During tonight’s Longview City Council meeting, the council will discuss Hope Village and Community Development Block Grant allocations.
One motion on the agenda is to direct staff to publish a request for proposals for the operation of Hope Village. The goal is to select an operator responsible for full-time facility management and the delivery of behavioral health services. The hope is that, with the addition of behavioral health services, the state will assume funding responsibilities. Another change included in the proposal would require drug testing upon entry to the facility.
A public hearing will also be held for the 2025 Community Development Block Grant allocations. The recommended funding includes $115,000 to Lower Columbia CAP to replace windows at the Soundview Apartments, $60,000 to Community House on Broadway for a restroom remodel, and $35,000 to Longview Parks and Recreation for their Super Summers Program.
