Some local renters woke up yesterday to some frustrating déjà vu; 397 Longview apartment units had utility shutoff notices posted on their doors again.
This was after the same thing happened back in March, due to the owner of the buildings reportedly not having paid the water and sewer bills for their tenants, as required by the leases.
City of Longview Public Information Officer Angela Abel told us that the door tags were posted at the Fairview, Mint Place, and Mountain View Villa apartments. The payments were for the June bill; after the apartment complexes reached over 60 days past due, the notices went out.
Abel did, however, say later in the day that the outstanding balances had been partially paid off. The Fairview Apartments bill was paid, along with two sections of Mint Place and one section of Mountain View Villa.
The only bills that remain outstanding are for 12 more units at Mint Place and 52 units at Mountain View Villa.
