One person was life-flighted after a serious single-vehicle accident Friday afternoon in Kalama.

Help arrived on scene just after 4:00 p.m. at the crash site at the intersection of Old Pacific Highway and Kalama River Road. It was reported that the vehicle was on fire in the roadway and had three occupants. A life flight was requested, and the road was shut down.

Within 30 minutes, the helicopter was able to land in Haydu Park and transport the patient. Their current condition is not known. It has not been reported whether the other two people in the vehicle suffered any injuries, and the cause of the crash has not been determined.

By 5:40 p.m., the scene was cleared, and the roadway was reopened.
