The Cowlitz County Commissioners have approved a contract with the Humane Society of Southwest Washington for animal control services. Since December, the county has been operating under a temporary contract.
This contract is for $111,000, which is within the county’s budget, and runs through the end of the year. Commissioner Rick Dahl says it covers nearly everything, except after-hours veterinary issues and potential large animal concerns. They are still working on a long-term contract.
