Hugo Friedrich: May 15, 1937 – August 23, 2026

CASTLE ROCK- Hugo Friedrich, of Castle Rock, Washington, passed away on August 23, 2026, at the age of 89. He was born on May 15, 1937, in Germany and lived a life marked by devotion to family, steady work, and pride in caring for the things and people entrusted to him.

He graduated from Centralia High School in Centralia, Washington, and later served his country for four years in the United States Army. Those who knew Hugo will remember him as a hard worker and a great handyman. He loved to repair things, and that practical skill was part of the way he moved through life—with patience, care, and a willingness to put his hands to whatever needed doing.

Hugo took special pride in the life he built at home. His yard, which looked like a park, reflected the same dedication and attention that he brought to so much of his life. Among his proudest accomplishments was the 60 years he shared in marriage with his beloved wife, Darlene, a lasting testament to love, commitment, and partnership.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Friedrich.

Hugo is survived by his son, Daryl Friedrich and his domestic partner, Tammy; his son Robin Friedrich and daughter-in-law Mariss Karbon; and his daughter Cindy Reynolds and son-in-law Kevin Reynolds. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Tyler, Alex, Hailee, and Colten, who will carry forward the memory of his steady presence, his hardworking nature, and the example he set through a life of dedication.

Hugo Friedrich will be remembered with love and gratitude by his family and by all who appreciated his kind of quiet strength—the kind shown in service, in hard work, in skillful hands, and in a home lovingly tended. His memory will remain a blessing to those who knew him.
