A Castle Rock man was injured after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole north of Lexington yesterday.

The crash occurred around 4:44 p.m. on West Side Highway near Edgewater Lane.

First responders reported downed power lines on the ground, and a single lane of the roadway was blocked. Within about 15 minutes, the driver, 75-year-old John Brockmoller, was out of the vehicle and was taken to St. John Medical Center for treatment.

According to the Washington State Patrol report, Brockmoller was traveling northbound in a 2021 Toyota Tacoma when, for an unknown reason, he crossed the center lane. This caused him to veer into the southbound ditch, where he struck a utility pole.

Brockmoller was wearing a seatbelt, and no drugs or alcohol were involved.
