Water main flushing is going to be happening today in Area #1 of Longview.

The city says utility crews will be flushing water between Industrial Way and Nichols Boulevard, from Oregon Way to Washington Way, in the St. Helens and Highlands neighborhoods. Work has already begun and is scheduled to end by 4:30 p.m.

At this time, it is recommended that residents refrain from using water because sediment can enter residential plumbing. After flushing, it is recommended that residents run water for a short time prior to drinking it or washing clothing.
