The Kelso Police Department is warning of a possible scam after they received multiple calls from the public yesterday.

They said the callers claimed that a Sergeant Wiper was calling from a blocked number about an urgent matter that needed to be discussed.

The Kelso Police Department said they don’t know exactly how this scam works, but they believe it will most likely end with the scammer asking for your bank account information or for gift cards to be purchased.

If anyone calls you, identifying themselves as a police officer from a blocked or out-of-area number, you can always hang up and call the agency’s publicly listed phone number back!
