Jeff Steinbock, a noted local saxophone player and medical professional, passed away Saturday after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Steinbock played sax for many local bands, including Dreamer. He was always welcome to jam when bands would be performing in the area.

A Kelso grad and nursing graduate of Lower Columbia College, he worked for many years as a registered nurse, most recently for the Pacific Surgical Institute.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jan Steinbock, and their two children, Anne and Max.

Not to mention the music community for his talents on the sax and flute.

Sweet heavenly music.
