The Longview Pioneer Lions have their annual kettle/caramel corn and cotton candy sale going. Each bag is $8. They will be outside of the Safeway on Ocean Beach Highway each Friday from 10am to 4pm through May. All money raised stays LOCAL to help with disaster relief, childhood cancer, diabetes, hunger, vision, and several others.
The Beaver Valley Grange Spring Sale is THIS Friday and Saturday, 10am-4pm each day. The Grange is 3 miles west of Rainier on Larsen Road.
The Columbia Theatre Association for the Performing Arts Celebrates 100 Years Friday at 5:30pm. John Paul from KLOG is emceeing the event at the theatre, tickets are free at ColumbiaTheatre.com There will be a rededication and ribbon cutting, cake, champagne, live music by the Southwest Washington Symphony, a short film, and then the first film ever shown at the Columbia Theatre in 1925: “Charley’s Aunt.”
First Friday Fun is back at the Kelso Theater Pub. Come see Philip Kopczynski, widely regarded as one of the funniest comedians in the Pacific Northwest, from 9pm to 11pm.
Saturday:
The Mi Familia Swap Meet runs every Saturday and Sunday, 9-4, at 1525 Broadway St in Longview. Both sides of Broadway from the Civic Circle to 15th Ave (in front of City Hall) will be closed to traffic for each swap meet.
To celebrate 100 years, the Columbia Theatre is having tours this Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Then at 7:30pm the First lady of Blues LaRhonda Steele performs.
The 7th annual Celebration of Children will be at Youth and Family Link: April 5th, 11am-3pm. This is a free family-friendly event with kids activities, free food and balloon animals, information booths, activity bags and prizes.
The Longview Library is hosting “Using the Creative Arts for Health and Wellness” this Saturday from 2 to 3:30pm. This is an event that explores how creative arts foster mindfulness, calm, and creative thinking in a hands-on experience! There will be art activities, discussion, snacks, and tea. The event is for ages 12+, and is free. No prior art experience necessary.
The 4th annual Round Dance will be at the Cowlitz County Event Center on Saturday starting at 5pm. They have a raffle, 50/50, vendors, and the program of round dancing and singing from different indigenous nations. This free event is for all ages.
