Hands Off Protest in Longview—KLOG 100.7 News
April 7, 2025There was one injury in a three-car collision on West Side Highway last night.
The crash occurred just after 10 p.m. at milepost 3, near the Tiny Home Tap House. When first responders arrived on the scene, 25-year-old Jack Chidlers of Kelso was found to be injured; he was taken by ambulance to St. John Medical Center.
According to the Washington State Patrol report, a Chevy Colorado driven by 35-year-old Francisco Meza slowed while heading northbound for a bicyclist, with a Toyota Tacoma driven by 18-year-old Gerald Meece following behind. Meece had been following too closely, which caused him to rear-end the Colorado. This caused the Colorado to veer into the southbound lane and hit a Hyundai Sonata driven by Chidlers.
The northbound side of West Side Highway was closed for an unspecified amount of time, with flaggers directing traffic through.
Meece, Meza, and a 15-year-old passenger in Meza’s truck were all uninjured. Everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt, and drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash.
