The City of St. Helens has expanded its search for a new police chief and, for the time being, has appointed an interim chief.
The position has been vacant since former Chief Brian Greenway retired in January amid an internal investigation into a “non-criminal personnel matter.” Since then, the department has been without a permanent chief; however, Joe Hogue, who has been acting in the role, was officially appointed as interim chief last week.
The City Council also opened a 10-day application period for internal candidates during that meeting.
