There were no injuries in what initially appeared to be a serious head-on crash on Spirit Lake Highway near Kid Valley yesterday morning.
The collision happened just after 7 a.m. at milepost 18, near the 1900 logging road. A box van and a passenger vehicle were involved. The driver of the car was able to get out on his own, but the van driver had to be removed through a window.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Dakota Russell says one of the drivers involved, a 45-year-old Toutle man, was arrested at the scene for Driving Under the Influence. He confirmed that no injuries were reported.
