The Kelso City Council will hold its first regular meeting of the year this evening, and with that we’ll get our first look at the new council.
There were three positions up for reelection, two of which were retained by councilmembers Brian Wood and Mike Karnofski. The only new councilmember will be Jackie Collins; Collins defeated Kimberly Lefebvre in her bid for reelection.
The meeting will also include the council selecting a new mayor and deputy mayor. Current Mayor Veryl Anderson remains on the council and could be selected again, or the council could choose another member. We do know for sure there will be a new deputy mayor, as Councilmember Lefebvre previously served in that role.
