A Portland man has pleaded guilty to multiple felony sex crimes involving a local teen.
The Daily News reports that 35-year-old Kitichai Singcharoen is set to be sentenced in Cowlitz Superior Court on May 5th.
The abuse reportedly began in 2021, when the victim was 13. However, the victim claims they met Singcharoen seven years earlier, when he was their youth judo coach. Singcharoen was also a family friend.
The victim’s father reported the abuse in 2023 after reviewing their child’s cell phone. The victim told authorities that the pair arranged meetings through social media at motels and Singcharoen’s Portland residence.
It was also reported that the two exchanged photos; sometimes, Singcharoen would request them in exchange for sending food delivery.
Singcharoen’s guilty pleas include three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, commercial sexual abuse of a minor, and one count of second-degree viewing depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
