As temperatures remain low, be sure to keep an eye on some of the most vulnerable people in our community. Clark County Public Health reports that during the most recent cold spell, they confirmed one death.
The person who died was in their 80s and housed, and they suffered from hypothermia.
As of now, no deaths related to the cold have been reported in Cowlitz County. Nightly lows next week are expected to reach the low 20s. As a reminder, a cold weather shelter will be open each night from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. at the McClelland Center in Longview.
